TRANSFORMATIONAL
LEADERSHIP
The
Context Has Changed!
"Over the past twenty years, apart from
medical revolution and the micro processor, the most significant
thing to happen to the world has been the ability to take mass out
of production. The inventory-to-sales ratio of the whole industrial
world has dropped like a stone during the last two decades."
(Fred Smith, CEO Federal Express)
Welcome aboard! What will be the context of the
next decade? If Mass is being removed from Production, is Mass Production
thinking obsolete? Will Mass Production leadership principles work
in the information environment?
The road to the future is not a linear extension
of the past and the Leadership Challenge is enormous. The CONTEXT
of Mass Production thinking contains assumptions that are no longer
valid. The Competitive Advantage of the Mass Production model is
unsustainable. Core Competencies have been matched. Companies must
build competitive advantages based upon sustainable relationships,
not product features or low prices.
The Era of Mass Customization has arrived. Fueled
by technological obsolescence, the new business environment contains
unprecedented opportunities. Never before in our modern industrial
environment have leaders been challenged to think about CHANGE as
they are today.
The Leadership Challenge
Leadership within the Mass Production model has
been well defined in terms of attributes, habits, intelligence,
and heroic determination. In the new context, Leadership is a Process,
not a person. Leadership is about creating Trust around intention
and translating that intention into reality.
The transformed organization is the Collective
Intelligence of its people. It's a network of teams. People own
the responsibility for their own performance because it is vital
to the success of the WHOLE business.
The Business of the BUSINESS is still chaotic,
but the feeling of control is present. Control comes from the aligning
force of "purpose." People know their role in the customer
service process and are committed to fulfill that role.
A new form of Leader must emerge. The focus shifts
from personal attributes to creating a Structural Framework for
change. It is insufficient to be charismatic if Vision and Purpose
are missing.
What You Will Experience:
The Transformational Leadership workshop is an
experience from which you must extract meaning that is relevant
to your own work environment.
You will be free to explore the possibility of
Transforming your Leadership style and the work environment that
limits your creative ability.

Change. During the 8 hour simulation, you will be challenged to
"let go" of "Mass Production thinking" and experience
new possibilities.
Pilots fly planes in simulators before they attempt
their first real flight. Come fly the organization of the future.
Feel the exhilaration of innovation, empowered employees, self-directed
teamwork and economic leverage. Experience the agony of the "pulp"
stage and realize the absolute necessity of "letting go"
of Mass Production models in order to succeed.
